Enhancing the theatrical experience to meet patrons' expectations.

This is the first phase of a refurbishment programme and includes new seating, improved sight lines, better ventilation and improved facilities for the disabled. Backstage, the fly tower and flying systems have been upgraded, and two new rehearsal rooms constructed on an adjacent site called the Opera Centre.
This is connected to the theatre by a wide bridge, which also acts as a scenery store accessed from a new hydraulic lift.

"All these new benefits, we believe, will enhance the theatrical experience and fully meet our patrons' rightful expectation for a Grand night out."
