Accessibility consultation services for the new inpatient facility and community teaching hospital to serve the diverse community of East York.
The Michael Garron Hospital (MGH) New Patient Care Tower consists of the construction of a new eight-storey tower, a three-storey podium, and two levels of underground parking garage totalling 578,000 square feet and the renovation of existing departments in D, G, H and K wings that comprise of approximately 120,000 square feet. The new MGH provides new inpatient beds and a community teaching hospital to serve the diverse community of East York.
Our inclusive design consultancy, Human Space provided accessibility consultation services to EllisDon Infrastructure Healthcare for the pursuit phase of the project including standards comparison, research, drawing reviews and ensuring the project’s accessibility narrative meets and exceeds the standard. During the award phase, Human Space worked with the project team to ensure that output specifications (OS) standards were met.
