Liverpool Love Lane development poised for planning approval
BDP has presented plans for over 500 homes in Liverpool’s Love Lane in a new development that will repurpose a series of railway arches in the city centre.

The plans were submitted by BDP on behalf of the joint venture between Sourced Developments and Network Rail. The project will see 507 homes built alongside railway lines just north of the city centre and east of Bramley Moore Dock, where BDP is working on the delivery of the Everton stadium on Bramley Moore Dock.
Spread across four separate buildings, the development consists of 147 one-bedroom units, 330 two-bedroom units, and 30 three-bedroom homes designed in an industrial style, reminiscent of this area of Liverpool. Each building will feature its own internal courtyard for social space, markets, and events, with building heights limited to a maximum of 11 storeys.
Redundant railway arches and underground tunnels located on two of the plots will be repurposed to bring over 10,000 square feet of intriguing, eye-catching commercial space to the new city centre destination. A 200-metre linear park is also included in the joint venture’s vision for the site, providing space for walking and relaxing while ensuring the four separate buildings feel connected and cohesive.

“The vision for Love Lane is to create a new section of Liverpool’s pedestrian circuit by repurposing historic brick railway arches on the northern edge of the city core, utilizing cafes, bars, restaurants, and other leisure amenities to create a destination, all linked together by a linear park. The heritage surroundings have influenced the design of unique residential apartment buildings - reflecting the railway and industrial warehouse heritage of the adjacent docks and resulting in high-quality, dual-aspect residential homes. It will be a vibrant and fantastic place for people to live and visit, with a true sense of the city of Liverpool woven into the design.”
